Allied Bolt & Screw: Over 63 Years of Excellence, Quality, and Commitment

When it comes to sourcing fasteners and structural hardware, companies across Massachusetts and beyond have relied on a trusted name for decades: Allied Bolt & Screw Corporation.

Founded in 1961 by Richard “Dick” Goldberg, Allied Bolt & Screw has been an anchor in the fastener industry for over 63 years. What began as a small operation on the corner of Wareham and Albany Streets in Boston has grown into a premier supplier of fasteners and specialty products for construction, manufacturing, and countless industrial applications.

Humble Beginnings in Boston

For its first 40 years, Allied Bolt & Screw operated from a 15,000 square-foot warehouse spanning two floors in Boston’s South End. The company was built upon the core principles of hard work, honesty, and dedication to customer service. Dick Goldberg believed that every customer deserved individual attention and access to the highest-quality products at competitive prices.

A Family Legacy

From an early age, Dick’s son Neil Goldberg was immersed in the family business. Like many who grow up in family-owned companies, Neil learned the industry from the ground up. He spent his youth filling shelves in the warehouse, loading and unloading trucks in the Shipping Department, packaging screws in the Packing Room, and answering customer inquiries both over the phone and at the counter.

These experiences weren’t just jobs – they were lessons in the values of precision, service, and commitment that define Allied Bolt & Screw today.

In 1976, after earning his Business Management degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Neil officially joined Allied Bolt & Screw full-time, bringing fresh energy into product development, marketing, and sales. His combination of hands-on experience and formal business education positioned him perfectly to expand and strengthen the company’s operations.

Relocation to Canton and Continued Growth

In 2001, Allied Bolt & Screw moved to Canton, Massachusetts, where it continues to thrive today. From this strategic location, the company has broadened its reach, serving contractors, fabricators, and manufacturers with the same personal attention that customers have trusted for over six decades.

Not a ‘Cookie-Cutter’ Operation

What truly sets Allied Bolt & Screw apart is that it has never operated as a “cookie-cutter” business. The company is renowned for its extensive inventory of standard and specialty fasteners. Walking through their warehouse, one sees aisles lined with products of varying types, strengths, and materials, ready to meet the diverse needs of their customers.

Allied Bolt & Screw’s commitment to stocking such a wide range means that whether you need a standard hex cap screw, a hot galvanized anchor bolt, or a specialty fastener fabricated to precise specifications, they have you covered.

Relationships That Ensure Quality

Over the years, Allied Bolt & Screw has built strong relationships with the top suppliers and manufacturers across the United States. These partnerships enable the company to provide quality domestic parts that meet stringent industry standards.

They offer fasteners in all strengths, materials, and specifications up to 4″ diameter, and for projects requiring verified compliance, they can supply Material Test Report Certifications upon request. This attention to detail and quality assurance has made them a go-to source for engineers, architects, contractors, and procurement teams who refuse to compromise on quality.

The Leader in Hot Galvanized Anchor Bolts and More

One area where Allied Bolt & Screw particularly shines is in Hot Galvanized Anchor Bolts, Rods, Studs, Nuts, and Washers. As construction and manufacturing projects increasingly demand components with superior corrosion resistance and durability, Allied Bolt & Screw ensures that these critical parts are readily available.

Beyond hot galvanized hardware, they carry thousands of products to fulfill any building or manufacturing requirement. Their team is always ready to assist customers in selecting the best materials and grades to match the unique demands of their projects.

A Commitment That Stands the Test of Time

In an era when many suppliers focus solely on speed and price, Allied Bolt & Screw’s reputation is built on something deeper: trust, knowledge, and commitment. Customers know that when they call Allied Bolt & Screw, they’re not just placing an order – they’re speaking to a team with decades of industry expertise, who understand that the right fastener can make or break a project.

Looking Ahead

Under Neil Goldberg’s leadership, Allied Bolt & Screw continues to uphold the values instilled by his father while embracing the challenges and opportunities of the future. Whether supplying hardware for major infrastructure projects or sourcing specialty components for manufacturers, the company remains committed to delivering quality, variety, and service at the most competitive prices.
