SHAFT COLLARS Shaft collars act as a stop to retain equipment on shafts
There are three variations ... The 'Set Screw' Shaft Collar : This is the most economical shaft collar. It is installed by tightening a set screw that extends through the shaft collar. Unfortunately, the set screw often mars the shaft. The 'Single Split' Shaft Collar : This collar doesn't mar the shaft, and provides a greater axial load than the set screw collar. This collar can be used when the end of the shaft is accessible. It functions as a clamp around the circumference of the shaft, held in place by a single socket head cap screw. The (2-Piece) 'Double Split' Shaft Collar : The load values exceed the single split style by approximately 10%. This collar is used for mid-shaft applications when other components are already in place, or when a slightly greater axial load is desired. It can compensate for a slightly oversized or undersized shaft, and is held in place by two socket head cap screws.
Most shaft collars are available in AMERICAN STANDARD, METRIC, STEEL ZINC PLATED, STEEL BLACK OXIDE,304 STAINLESS STEEL
