Description:<\/b><\/p>\n

Joe Green from OSHA will be going over this year\u2019s\u00a0National Safety Stand-Down<\/a>, which takes place May 1-5, 2023.\u00a0This year marks the 10th anniversary of the National Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction campaign.\u00a0This is one of OSHA\u2019s most successful safety awareness campaigns that reaches far beyond construction sites.\u00a0Each year, many non-construction workplaces and international companies have also hosted stand-downs. The goal of the stand-down remains the same\u2014raise awareness to fall hazards and reinforce safe work practices that help prevent fatalities and injuries related to falls.<\/p>\n

Rena Harrington will be discussing Workers Memorial Day on April 28.<\/p>\n

About Joe:<\/b><\/p>\n

Joe Green has worked for the United States Department of Labor OSHA since 2000. Prior to becoming a Compliance Assistance Specialist in 2018, Joe was a Safety and Health Compliance Officer for 18 years. During that time, Joe has investigated well over 500 workplace accidents, 50 workplace fatalities and has inspected over 2000 job sites and establishments. As a Compliance Assistance Specialist, Joe now works and assists employers in complying and staying up to date with OSHA regulations. Prior to working for OSHA, Joe worked in the private sector for a large mechanical sub-contractor as a supervisor for over 15 years.<\/p>\n

About Rena:<\/b><\/p>\n

Rena Harrington is the President of United Support & Memorial for Workplace Fatalities. Rena will also talk about how she became affiliated with USMWF.<\/p>\n
