{"id":951,"date":"2023-02-21T10:23:01","date_gmt":"2023-02-21T15:23:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/site.alliedbolt.com\/blog\/?p=951"},"modified":"2023-02-21T10:23:01","modified_gmt":"2023-02-21T15:23:01","slug":"construction-news-construction-employment-climbs-again-up-25k-in-january","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/site.alliedbolt.com\/blog\/construction-news-construction-employment-climbs-again-up-25k-in-january\/","title":{"rendered":"Construction News: Construction Employment Climbs Again, Up 25K in January"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Construction gained 25,000 jobs in January, continuing the industry\u2019s long streak of monthly employment increases, but its unemployment rate reflected mixed results, the Bureau of Labor Statistics reports.<\/h2>\n<p>The bureau\u2019s latest monthly employment report, released Feb. 3, also shows that construction\u2019s jobless rate moved up to 6.9%, from 4.4% in December, but the rate also was down from the the year-earlier level of 7.1%.<\/p>\n<p>The BLS numbers also show that construction\u2019s total employment rose by 294,000, or 3.9%, in the 12-month period ended in January, to a total of 7,884,000. BLS also noted that construction added an average of 22,000 jobs per month in 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The BLS unemployment rate statistics are not adjusted for seasonal differences. But its job figures are seasonally adjusted.<\/p>\n<p>All but one of construction\u2019s segments recorded job increases in January, paced by the nonresidential specialty trades contractors category, which added 16,500.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.enr.com\/articles\/55839-construction-employment-climbs-again-up-25k-in-january\">READ ENTIRE ARTICLE
